Assorted Articles/College Publications
In over 15 articles over the past few years, I've written alumni/ae profiles, introduced alum to new majors or programs of study, covered the accomplishments of faculty members and more. I have never shied away from more difficult topics, and I have also written about law issues that have an impact on colleges: Title IX, prayer in the locker room, and what legal restrictions can be placed on guns. The breadth of my interests and the depth of my research make me an outstanding writer for alumni/ae magazines.
While I was a graduate student at both the University of Washington and Cornell University, my focus was on the historical roots of religious intolerance. As a consequence, I have spent more hours than I can count digging around in archives, which means that I am capable of finding even the most obscure research materials. Google may be our friend, but it doesn’t cover everything.
My research background makes it possible to explore new college programs or legal issues that have an impact on how colleges are run, and I can turn them into prose that the educated readers of a university’s magazines can understand.
